Key Values

We’ve given a lot of thought to what matters to us at GemSe. We’ve written down our thoughts on posters. The posters are displayed throughout the building in both German and English. We’d love for you to have a read through them and let us know what you like or don’t like about them.

Who am I for you? GemSe likes to be a space for exploring a tender and caring togetherness. What
that means exactly depends on those people who are currently using the space. GemSe is constantly changing and growing.
I cross boundaries too: GemSe likes respectful interaction.
They doesn't like it when others are hurt. It happens anyway.
What we want to learn:
* express our own boundaries
* respect the boundaries of others
* take responsibility for our own behavior
I'll take a break: GemSe needs relationship work.
We learn with them:
* say
Feel at home with joy: GemSe asks little of those who visit them.
They cherishes the simple pleasure of seeing others relax in their presence and savoring moments of genuine connection.
My living space is important to me: It is important to GemSe that resources such as water and energy are conserved and waste is avoided. They is also happy if you help to keep their premises nice and clean. That way, everyone can feel comfortable
I dare myself: GemSe likes it when we allow each other to get things wrong. When we make mistakes, we learn.

In addition to these key values, the GemSe working group ‘Community Accountability’ recommends podmapping. This is a method that originated in transformative justice movements. You can find a worksheet on this here.
