Following your own direction, your inner compass, feeling a connection to the world around you and at the same time offering resistance – without burning out – can be particularly difficult for marginalized people in our society. We are often too busy being allowed to exist and defending our right to exist. This is exhausting and can leave us feeling disoriented.
What else might it be like? Using methods from Somatic Art Practice and nature connection, we go on a search together.

Be creative and lean back – come to F*Art Week! Paint, draw, make pottery, print, carve, write, collage, move… try out different techniques, learn new things in a summery, appreciative atmosphere. The joy of doing and creating together takes centre stage, no previous artistic knowledge is required. Let perfectionist demands go with a breeze!

We (Carolina, Mika and Leno) provide the framework and give a few creative inputs, but above all there is plenty of space and time to immerse yourself in the creative process and explore the arising topics.

F*art week takes place in a self-managed community space. Delicious food is provided and we help set up, cover up, wash up and tidy up together. At the end, we clean the space together so that the next ones staying at GemSe can enjoy themselves!

The costs are on a sliding scale between €510 and €630 according to your own estimate (the costs include accommodation, meals, fees for the workshop leaders and the materials we will be working with). Participants are responsible for their own travelling expenses. You will receive a guide to the price scale by email after you have expressed your interest. If you can’t afford it, let us know – we’re sure to find a solution!

Team

Leno Gasser is an art therapist (painting and design therapy) with a background in social work, enjoys making music and playing board games.

Carolina (she/her or no pronouns) is a photographer and passionate playfighter, loves good food, being outdoors and is always happy to receive good book tips.

Mika (they/-) has been living and organising collectively for over 20 years, in the GemSe since 2021. Mika works in arts and culture advocacy, but also works a lot with groups. Mika likes to write, sing, draw, paint and occasionally perform.

We are making Gemse more accessible! From February until the end of May 2025, the Gemse will have a lift and barrier-free sanitary facilities.

The time has come, spring is definitely coming and we want to network, get to know each other, spend a good time together and actually do something together – especially when it gets frosty somewhere else. So get out into the countryside and the garden with us!

Yes, there will be garden days at GemSe. And we look forward to caring for the property with you, mowing the lawn, planting and cutting shrubs and herbs, laying new paths, cleaning up, supplying firewood, redesigning the slope and planting beds.

Of course we will also use the sauna, cook for each other, lie in the sun, have a campfire in the evenings and have a nice time together.

You don’t know GemSe yet? We are very happy when people come who have never been here before, because the garden days are a simple opportunity to get a taste of the Gemsiverse and for us to get to know you!
